Heritage Volunteers
Two projects were started in 2009, one at Brodie Castle (National Trust for Scotland) and the other at the Highlanders’ Museum at Fort George. The volunteers at both locations have been very enthusiastic about their work.
Brodie Castle
The work was to assist in the conservation of the Brodie family archives. This was a small first project requiring two volunteers (assisting those of the castle) and has now been completed. There is a possibility that the project may have a second stage, in which case further support could be provided.
Fort George
Work on two tasks, involving six volunteers in total, was started in late May: the conservation of uniforms, and conservation and cataloguing of library items. These are major tasks and could be running for some time. There is scope for additional volunteers for both!
